Jerry Douville, Principal
Jerry grew up on a dairy farm in Ferrisburg VT, and spent his summers building greenhouses and working on Lake Champlain installing docks and marinas. After high school he attended the North American Institute of aviation in South Carolina where he graduated in 1988. He moved to Massachusetts to work as flight instructor and commercial charter pilot. Later his aviation career took him to Alaska, but one again his interest brought him back into the construction and building industry. In 1994 a new found love of the west and mountains brought him to Jackson, Wyoming where he worked for two years as a carpenter. From that point forward he never looked back and knew that home building was in his blood and he wanted to learn as much as possible and cultivate his expertise. A good friend of his, Robert Huggins, who is now his business partner was moving back to California to go back into corporate home building, so he decided he would take a leap and give it a chance. He too moved out to the San Francisco Bay Area and worked for Shea Homes as a Superintendent and later had the opportunity to move into the office to become a purchasing agent, which he enjoyed immensely. He was then offered a purchasing manger role at Young California Homes, where he continued to gain more valuable experience until 2000, when he decided to move back to Jackson to start his own general contracting business called High Country Builders, which today is New West Building Company. Every day he is doing what he loves to do the most; designing, creating and building homes. The only thing he enjoys more is time spent with his wife Rini and their family. When he’s not working or enjoying time with his family, you’ll find him mountain biking, snowboarding and enjoying the great outdoors.
